Naxalism or Maoism, Is it justified??

Posted by Aphron on 12:13 PM
I was made to think on this topic after the massacre which occurred few days back in Dantewada district. 76 CRPF jawans were brutally murdered by Maoists.
I was watching this Debate( What should be done to counter naxalism) on a News channel being discussed by eminent personalities which included many Political leaders as well.

Well before thinking of a solution to counter Naxalism,I think it would be advisable to know why in the first place these people have taken the extreme step of Violence against the government.
Some of the major concerns of them are that

  • Government is not doing anything for the poor tribals(Adivasis)
  • Under the pretext of Development they are making poor people homeless.
  • Corruption rules the government.
Many more issues which if considered carefully are actually Genuine issues.

But is Violence Justified? Is this the only way left??

Some interesting points raised by the issue where that, these people have two choices.
Either take arms and fight for justice or just wither away because of hunger, poorness etc
They have been trying to take issues to government but nothing is done.

Government's reply to this is
" You should join politics,Stand in elections and take part in the development process"

But is it that simple to form a party and be able to win in elections? Something similiar happened in Nepal but this is INDIA, it will not be easy.

If that route is used then it will be very difficult.

But According to me that is the only way to bring justice. Yes it is difficult but then if really these Radicals believe in their morals then they should come forward and fight.

Picking up Guns is a easy job,Killing someone is easy but to fight openly is hard. Yes i agree it might be impossible but then how can you justify killing 75 Lives!
What have the families of the deceased done??

War does not solve a issue it only complicates it.

Something has to be done by Government. They cannot sit idle. This is a very complex issue and should be handled in a sensible way. Opposition parties should forget petty politics and join hands to solve this issue.

India mourning!

Indian1: Did you read the reports of the killing by naxals yesterday?

Indian2: Yes i did! It was brutal and very wrong on the part of naxals! Damn the government! It doesn't do anything!

Indian student1: True! Hey what's the latest news of Sania-shohaib marriage? Any new development???......................................

Isn't India really mourning?
When Kasab and his accomplice had come to mumbai and killed so many people it ruled the headlines for weeks together. Such was the scale of disaster.
But when "only" 74 CRPF jawans die, what do our great media channels do??
Have wonderful programmes on IPL,Sania Mirza marriage etc
Actually it is better if media ignores this incident since when they apply their super brains they make mockery of themselves!

Apart from NDTV and CNNIBN no one is showing the plight of families which have lost their only breadwinners. 74 jawans died! Does really no one care for them??

Well they are army men they are supposed to die! Aren't they??

They are not supposed to!! Death of a individual is being taken very lightly nowadays and we judge the scale of disaster by number of deaths!!

I do not want to criticize the government since they did what they had to! They paid homage to the martyrs,in few days the concerned families will get their compensations( At least they will be promised)

Chief Air marshall reply to a journalist question: Well i am in no favour of using air force to takle naxals since we are not equipped and we are not trained for it.
But unless the govenment wants us to,then we can think...
Good atleast he wants to think!

Subranium( Janata party president): Chidambaram should resign!!

Surely India is mourning...
